AI Education Across the Curriculum (StoryQ)
Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping society. While not every student needs to become an AI scientist or engineer, almost everyone will enter a workforce powered and transformed by AI technologies. Preparing youth to enter and engage with an AI-filled future is one of our most critical challenges. AI, however, is a highly interdisciplinary field, so AI education can happen in a variety of settings where the problems of interest call for AI solutions.
The StoryQ projects aim to support high school students in developing knowledge in AI and interest in AI-rich careers by integrating foundational AI education into disciplinary studies. We have created several modules that address different aspects of AI and align to ELA, math, and history classes.

AI-Powered Historians Dataset Exploration
Explore the dataset from the AI-Powered Historians module. Do you notice any patterns? How does analyzing data using a text classification model help you analyze historical documents? What is lost when using tools like this?

Markov Chain Model
Have you ever wondered how your phone knows what word to suggest next? Is that suggestion any good? In this demo, you will build and analyze a Markov chain model, which demonstrates one way to generate text and predict the next word in a sequence.

StoryQ Text Classification
Have you ever wondered how businesses can quickly read and sort so many reviews? Try your hand at building a model to predict if a review is positive or negative! This model is used in both the Math & AI and Text Classification modules.
